As interest and skills develop in a young entrepreneur's mind, curiosity is always lurking around. Ideas blossom, some to stay and some to die.

Not every brainwave hits the mark and rightfully ends up in the graveyard of not so good ideas and inventions. Some good ideas, though, also end up in the same graveyard, forgotten.

It's like throwing spaghetti on the wall to see if some of it sticks. Those ideas that stick are the ones you might develop and polish into a shiny product or service you can offer.

Sometimes though, lightning strikes, the lightbulb flashes and a golden nugget sees the world.

Now that you have your golden nugget in hand, what do you do?

What drives you?

At this point there are several aspects to consider. Probably the most important of these are; what is your motivation?

Money

Is it money, or more money than you have now? Money will always be part of the equation, you can't develop products and build a business without. Yes, it's possible to start small and grow. Many have done that and some have grown big. Both Microsoft and Apple started in garages, and look at them now.

Your Own Boss

Do you want to be your own boss? You are not the only one with that goal and that is a strong motive. And, it is achievable. How do we know that? We have, and so have Thousands upon thousands done before you. You are in good company in other words.

Helping Others

A product or service must fulfill a need or solve a problem or help people in some way, otherwise nobody would ever buy it.

The only one who achieved that, is probably Steve Jobs and Apple, when they developed a small computer you also could use as a phone.

Nobody ever heard of such a product and didn't know they needed one. Today everybody carries a small computer they can use as a phone.

Steve Jobs was unique. Perhaps you also are?

Regardless of what motivates you, starting a business is not done overnight. It's a lengthy project and way of life, more like a marathon race than a short distance race. Motivation, conviction and will must sit deep to see it through.

One more thing

The product or Service you want to offer, you must bring to market. How do you do that?

Internet of course. The Internet brings the world, your customers, your followers and your tribe to your shopfront. Or, perhaps better said:

The Internet brings your shopfront into people's lives, onto their laptop screens, onto their phones.
