When choosing a platform to build your website, there are a plethora of options out there.

The most known are probably Webflow, Wordpress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify and several more. They offer development of no code websites, and some also blog options.

Except Wordpress which is completely free as it stands, they all have free starter options with very limited functionality, like 2 web pages max and no custom domain, unless you pay up.

When you use a platform to design and build your website, you build under their system and domain name. You would not run your website under a website builder's domain name. It's your business and the website needs to carry you name and branding. Some platforms offer domain names also, but not always.

In order to use your own domain name, you go to the domain registrar where you bought your domain name and point your domain name to the platform where your website is located. This is called to use a custom domain, which will give your website your domain name when viewed in an internet browser.

There are variations between the different platforms, but in general it's the rule of the more you pay, the more you can do.

Wordpress is, as said, free, but to have a functioning website you need to search, self study and find quite a few plugins and design themes. Among the plugins and themes there are both free and payable versions.

You will have to learn a lot and will be busy updating and tweaking plugins and themes. You can visit any Wordpress Facebook user group and see that there are a lot of things to look after, update and frustration when things break because of a Wordpress update that breaks not updated plugins and such.
